CHA Architecture Professionals Engage Local Students Through ACE Mentor Program

June 05, 2019

CHA Architecture Practice Leader Matt Pitzer, Project Manager Ben Winschel, and Design Technology Manager Adam McKinnon serve on the board and volunteer for the ACE Mentor Program in Portland, Maine. They join other leaders in the architecture, construction and engineering industry to provide opportunities to introduce high school students to the careers in these fields.

The ACE Mentor program is an after-school program that gives students a hands-on-introduction to architecture, construction management, engineering, and other construction careers. Ace mentors volunteer their time to show students where and how they work and will mentor the students on a project.

CHA’s Ben Winschel is an alumnus of the program in addition to serving as a newer board member. According to Ben, “ACE allowed me to engage with the architecture and design profession in a hands-on-way. The experiences I gained not only solidified my interest in the field, they sparked a passion for it.”
